Álvaro Palacios is the winemaker who resurrected Priorat, arriving in the abandoned slate hills of Gratallops in 1989 and creating L'Ermita — an old-vine Garnacha that became one of Spain's most expensive and celebrated wines. His estates now span Priorat, Rioja (Palacios Remondo), and Bierzo, making him modern Spain's most influential vigneron.
