Arietta is an ultra-premium Napa Valley producer founded in 1996 by wine specialist and auctioneer Fritz Hatton and his wife Caren, in partnership with winemaker John Kongsgaard and his wife Maggy — a shared passion for fine wine and classical music gave the winery its name, from the Arietta movement of Beethoven's final piano sonata. The Hattons became sole proprietors in 2005 and brought in Andy Erickson as winemaker, who remains today. Sourcing from Hudson Vineyard in Carneros and select Coombsville sites, the portfolio includes the flagship H Block Hudson Vineyard Cabernet Franc blend, Quartet, Variation One, and the white On The White Keys.
