Barton Family Wines is the sister label to Grey Wolf Cellars, both founded in 1994 by Joe Barton Sr. and Shirlene Barton on their Highway 46 West estate in Paso Robles. Joe Barton Jr. introduced the Barton and Grey labels in 2011, expanding the family's portfolio beyond Grey Wolf's original small-lot blends. Barton draws fruit from dry-farmed vineyards across the Willow Creek, Templeton Gap, and Adelaida District AVAs, producing a range that spans crisp whites, orange wine, and a variety of reds built around Zinfandel, Bordeaux, and RhΓ΄ne varieties. The Barton Family Estate is a working farmhouse property under ancient live oaks, home to the winery's tasting room, Barton's Kitchen farm-to-table restaurant, and Grain + Vine Craft Distillery β making it one of the only stops on the 46 West corridor offering wine, food, and spirits together.
