BENOM Wines was founded by brothers Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre, sixth-generation winemakers from the Languedoc-Roussillon and Bordeaux regions of France who each moved separately to California for love before reuniting in Paso Robles. Guillaume arrived first to make wine at L'Aventure before launching his own label, Clos Solène; Arnaud followed to join his partner Chloe, and the brothers founded BENOM — a phonetic rendering of the French word binôme, meaning "a project together" — in Tin City. The name reflects the collaboration at the winery's core: straight Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Rhône- and Spanish-inspired blends including Lapsus, a Graciano-Mourvèdre blend named for the historic confusion between the two varieties in Paso Robles. Established in 2017, BENOM draws fruit from unique sites on Paso Robles' west side and offers guided, one-on-one seated tastings in a home-living-room-style tasting room.
