Jerry and Joyce Cain purchased 550 acres of the historic McCormick Ranch atop Spring Mountain in 1980, planting all five classic Bordeaux varieties across elevations reaching 2,100 feet. Winemaker Chris Howell has led the estate since 1990, and the flagship Cain Five blend, first released in 1985, remains one of Napa's most distinctive mountain-grown wines.
