Calera Wine Company is a Mount Harlan estate that pioneered single-vineyard Pinot Noir in California, with founder Josh Jensen famously choosing his remote San Benito County site specifically for its limestone soils — rare in California but essential to the great Pinot Noirs of Burgundy. Calera's Mills, Reed, and Jensen Vineyard Pinot Noirs have earned cult status among Burgundy lovers who seek California expressions of genuine terroir. The estate also produces Viognier alongside its Pinot Noirs from the same limestone-rich mountain site.
