CVNE — Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España — was founded in Haro in 1879 and remains run by descendants of its founding family. Its historic cellars include an Eiffel-designed hall, and its wines, from the classic Imperial Gran Reserva (a former Wine Spectator Wine of the Year) to Viña Real and Contino, are pillars of traditional Rioja.
