Far Niente Winery is one of Napa Valley's most storied and beloved estates, founded in 1885 and lovingly restored by Gil Nickel in 1979. The name — Italian for "without a care" — captures the gracious spirit of this Oakville landmark, which produces two wines: an estate Chardonnay and an estate Cabernet Sauvignon, both perennial critical favorites. Far Niente's famous cave system, gardens, and classic automobile collection make it one of the most enchanting visits in the entire Napa Valley.
