Ghost Horse Vineyard is one of the most exclusive and expensive wine brands in Napa Valley. Overseen by Todd Anderson, it shares ownership and winemaking ties with Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards, and its wines are made in the lower cave at Anderson's Conn Valley. The vineyard itself is tiny, just 3.08 acres off Coombsville Road in the Coombsville area of southern Napa Valley, and the first vintage was 2000. The lineup reads like a ghost story: Fantome, Apparition, Spectre, Premonition and Effrayant, along with an entry-level Cabernet Sauvignon and a single Chardonnay. Some bottlings are made in astonishingly small amounts. Premonition was produced in just six 6-liter bottles, and the 2023 Effrayant sold for 25,000 dollars a bottle. Ghost Horse is less a wine most people will open than a window into the extreme end of the Napa collector market.
