Grace Family Vineyards began in 1976 when Dick and Ann Grace planted less than an acre of Cabernet Sauvignon behind their St. Helena home, aided by neighbor Gary Andrus. The tiny yield made it one of Napa's original cult wines, allocated to a waitlist that has famously run for years given production still measured in a small number of barrels annually.
