Handwritten Wines was founded in 2009 by three couples — all with backgrounds in medicine — who also own neighboring Jessup Cellars in Yountville. Winemaker Rob Lloyd, who previously crafted wines for Cakebread, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, and La Crema, sources Cabernet Sauvignon from hillside and mountain vineyards across Napa Valley's many distinct AVAs. The tasting room's signature Bread & Butter experience pairs single-AVA Cabernets side by side with artisan breads and compound butters.
