Founded by John Anthony Truchard, whose father Tony pioneered Carneros vineyards in the mid-1970s and whose family also runs JaM Cellars. John grew up working the land alongside Napa icons Andre Tchelistcheff, Mike Grgich, and Joe Heitz, later built his own vineyard-management company, and released his first wine under the John Anthony label in 2006 from small, hand-selected sites across Napa's Oak Knoll District, Carneros, and Coombsville.
