Mount Veeder Winery farms steep, high-elevation vineyards on the mountain of the same name, on Napa's western ridge, where thin volcanic soils and cooler air produce more tannic, structured reds than the valley floor below. The estate has been producing mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-style blends since the 1970s, among the pioneering wineries of the Mount Veeder AVA.
