Ornellaia is one of the defining Super Tuscan estates of Bolgheri, founded in 1981 by Lodovico Antinori on the Tuscan coast. Its flagship Bordeaux-style blend and the cult Merlot Masseto (now a separate estate) rank among Italy's most collected wines; today Ornellaia is owned by the Frescobaldi family and remains a byword for coastal Tuscan opulence.
