Relic Wine Cellars was founded in 2001 by husband-and-wife team Mike and Schatzi, who met while working at Behrens & Hitchcock and began Relic with a few barrels of native-yeast Pinot Noir. The winery's old-world philosophy — native yeast and malolactic fermentation, whole-cluster winemaking, no water or acid additions — extends across a Rhône and Bordeaux varietal program sourced from Napa Valley and Sonoma Coast sites including Kenefick Ranch and the Frediani family vineyards, made at their cave and winery in Soda Canyon since 2015.
