Ridge Vineyards is one of California's most revered producers, farming the historic Monte Bello vineyard high in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where Cabernet has grown since 1885. Its 1971 Monte Bello competed in the 1976 Judgment of Paris and won the 30th-anniversary re-tasting outright; under longtime winemaker Paul Draper's "pre-industrial" philosophy, Ridge also built the definitive case for old-vine Zinfandel at Lytton Springs and Geyserville.
