Santa Margherita is the Italian house that made Pinot Grigio a global phenomenon: in 1961 it pioneered vinifying the pink-skinned grape as a crisp white wine, and its Alto Adige Pinot Grigio became one of the most successful Italian wines ever exported. Founded in 1935 in the Veneto by Count Gaetano Marzotto, the family group today spans estates from Alto Adige to Chianti Classico and Franciacorta.
