Sassicaia is the original Super Tuscan — the Cabernet Sauvignon planted by Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta at Tenuta San Guido that shattered Italian wine convention when its 1968 vintage was released commercially. The 1985 earned perfect scores and legend status, and Sassicaia later received its own DOC (Bolgheri Sassicaia), the only Italian wine from a single estate with that honor.
