Founded in 1977 by mining executive Ray Signorello Sr. and his son Ray Jr., who first sold grapes to Cakebread and Caymus before making their own estate wines in 1985. After the 2017 Atlas Fire destroyed the winery, Ray Jr. rebuilt an underground, virtually fireproof facility that reopened in 2024.
