Smith-Madrone is the mountain-top estate of brothers Stuart and Charles Smith, who cleared and planted their Spring Mountain vineyard in 1971 and still dry-farm it themselves at up to 1,900 feet. The estate is famous for proving world-class Riesling could grow in Napa Valley, alongside estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay of singular mountain character.
