The Prisoner Wine Company began as a single iconoclastic wine — The Prisoner, a bold Zinfandel-based blend — and has grown into one of California's most recognizable luxury brands. Founded by Dave Phinney in 2000 and now owned by Constellation Brands, The Prisoner sources fruit from Napa Valley and beyond to craft richly textured, approachable wines that have made premium California blends accessible to a mainstream audience. The Prisoner, Unshackled, and Saldo labels consistently appear on the country's most popular restaurant wine lists.
