Physician Tony Truchard and his wife Jo Ann drove three and a half hours from Reno most weekends through the 1970s to farm their growing Carneros property, camping out with their six children while establishing what would become one of the appellation's pioneering estates. Truchard now farms one of the largest family-owned vineyards in Carneros.
