Viña Montes was founded in 1988 by Aurelio Montes and partners with a then-radical mission: prove Chile could make world-class premium wine. Its icons — Montes Alpha M, Folly Syrah, and Purple Angel Carmenère — did exactly that, and its angel-marked labels and feng shui-designed Colchagua winery are now Chilean landmarks.
