Vincent Arroyo Winery is a down-to-earth family winery in Calistoga. Founder Vince Arroyo left a career as a mechanical engineer in Silicon Valley, bought 23 acres of the Greenwood Ranch in 1974 and settled at the northern end of Napa Valley, establishing the winery in 1984. He started by making small amounts of Petite Sirah and Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah remains the variety the winery is best known for. Today the winery at 2361 Greenwood Avenue produces more than 8,000 cases a year across about ten varieties, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah at the core, and Vince's daughter Adrian and son-in-law Matt run day-to-day operations. Much of the wine is sold direct through the tasting room and wine club. For HeyVino readers, Vincent Arroyo is one of Napa Valley's best values and a reminder that family farming still drives much of the valley's character.
